Question on differences of Aimpoint CompM2 vs Comp ML2

Is there a difference between how the Aimpoint Comp M2 operates vs the Comp ML2 during daylight use? I am aware the Comp M2 is compatible with night vision devices. I have used the Comp M2 and the red dot only appears in the sight when I turn the unit to the sixth position of the rotary Switch. Does the Comp ML2 allow the red dot to be seen when turning the rotary switch to the 1 thru 5 positions?

Yes, you can see the dot from pos#1 on .

Actually, no you can’t (Well you can…if you get in a dark enough room and look really really hard). The LED and switch mechanism are exactly the same between the ML2 and M2. The difference comes down to the additional coatings they put on the lens for the M2 NV compatibility.

Correction - but on the CompML2 you aint gonna see the dot on pos 1, unless you are possibly inside a photographer’s dark room.

In normal ambient light, it only becomes visible at about stop 5 or 6.

I have an ML2 and I have tested dot brightness under various light settings.
