Question on buying/ ordering P90

Ok so I was asked by a customer if it was legal to buy guns in the LE section of a FNH magazine and they wanted to know if it was legal to do so if it was the SBR SEMI AUTO model which is legal to convert a PS90 to, but he wants one from the factory already as a SBR and its only listed in the LE section. Is this some ATF agent trying to get me for straw purchasing a LE gun for a Civilian or is this a legal thing to do if one can convert a PS90 to a SBR but wants the one that LE can get that is already that way?

Call FNH and find out if they sell semi auto PS90 SBRs to civies. That would be my first thoughts. If they do please let us know, or at least let me, while I think the PS90 is at the very best a niche firearm there is the little kid in me who is attracted to the idea of getting an SBRed one to play with. I mean, even if you want to say glorified .22 mag, at least I have 50 rounds and piss off the liberals easier with mine. Lol, and if I am going to pay $18+ a box it might as well be something that I have the ability to reload if I chose, so there is that.

will do when they open on monday

You can buy one already converted to SBR from TROS if you want.

But it’s cheaper to buy a standard one and convert it.

Exactly, p90 sbr barrels are cheap.

Is it a semi auto only P90 smg or a PS90 sbr? They’re not the same. If it’s the former, then no. If it’s the latter, then maybe.

Are they OEM or aftermarket?

For me, I paid <$200 to have my factory barrel cut down and also got the adapter to convert to 1/2-28 (with SiCo o-ring specs). Turned out fantastic.

TROS offers standard and SiCo adapters.

CMMG recently got back in the game, but they want $275 for the barrel and another $70 for the adapter.

They said they don’t sell SBRs to the Civilian Market as a personal opinion they feel the people don’t need to be equal to the law (just what I felt from what I was told over the phone)

What exactly where you told over the phone?

FN has done way more for civvies than most gun manufacturers… and done things the HK crowd said was unpossible (importing PS90s, SCARs, etc). I think someone either let a personal opinion in, or woke up on the wrong side of the bed.

Yeah, human resource issue, not necessarily a corporate culture issue.

Here’s what I remember “Hello this is FNH Sales Department how may I help you… No we don’t sell LE and Military Guns to the Civilian market. If you want to SBR a PS90 you can do so by a form 1 but we do not have any plans in the near future to include a SBR PS90 from the factory for Civilian sale Thank you for calling have a good day” That’s about all a remember her saying and that I felt I was somehow making a joke about buying Military guns. But I for sure think it was her personal opinion just like Ruger was about normal round count mags for firearms (no 20 round mags for Mini-14)
