So I purchased my food saver today and did a test with a 1 qt bag using macaroni. The original packaging had a use by Apr 2013 on it. My question is how long do you think the food saver vacuum seal bags will extend that date out to?
man, I got macaroni that was in zip lock bags for the last 12 years, it still looks good to me.
I’ll bet if you threw a oxygen scavenger in there it’d be around till you needed it.
My personal rotation date with pasta when sealed in a vacuum bag and a oxygen absorber is 10 years. Now thats what I consider a safe date but the FDA may have a different opinion on the subject.
