Question for Arsenal AK owners

I know some of you own Arsenal brand rifles with the 24mm muzzle threads. I am curious if your muzzle devices are tightly screwed on or is there some play or slight wiggle? Mine wiggles a bit and I’m trying to decide if I need to do something about it.

All four of mine have play/ wiggle. You are fine, thousands of rounds and no problems at all with mine.

A “rubber washer” like the one sold by PWS may help if the "wiggle’ bothers you:

I am sure one of the resident AK guys will be of more help.

I was wondering if the wiggle affected accuracy.

Don’t forget you’re shooting an AK. The wiggle of the brake won’t hurt your accuracy enough for you to know it…

hi

Just push in the detent and rotate past and it will be tight. If it backs off the detent will catch it.

I have viewed this in some pics of ak74u’s

I did it on mine but only fired about 200rnds afterward so I do not know if it will back off after more rnds.

My 106FR had some wiggle on the AK74 brake. I put a small amount of teflon tape on the FSB threads. This tightened up the brake. The tape is easily removed if need be, as well as reapplied after cleaning. Anything rattling on the barrel will have a negative effect on accuracy.

I personally think that this is a preoccupation with inconsequential increments. I have hit steel at 180 yards offhand and seen others do it with a 4 second par time from the ready. Nobody had “special accuracy enhancements.”

A little play is perfectly normal and means that you have a healty, normal baby boy…, er, I mean AK.

I wouldn’t screw with it trying to make it tighter.
