Question About Rail For Piston AR

[QUOTE=Taptaps;1426281]

Adams Arms midlength upper on an LMT lower receiver.

please don’t jump in and get all negative in regards to piston AR’s. it’s just not much fun rehashing old arguments, as we all know the different opinions out there.

Would love to hear from others with suggestions on what rail to put on my rifle. I don’t really want to remove the gas block, but, at the same time, I do want a more modular, sleeker rail system than is currently available as a two piece design. The Midwest Industries Gen 2 is the one that seems like it would work with the least amount of modification and zero messing with the gas block

Knights Armament Co. rifle so its probably one of their rails. go look at the URX 3.1, not sure if it works with the piston though because of ID clearances.

Ya, you are probably correct regarding the clearance issue, although it is usually possible to enlarge the channel and make it work. I’m not too excited about modifying it that way though. MI gen 2 two piece free float is still looking like the best option for me.
I’m definitely using that rail when I build an 18" DI rifle, though.:neo:

FYI- This is the Technical Discussion Area, not a picture thread. Moving to the correct location.

The new Centurion C4 rails are supposed to work with the Adams kit. IINM, These are the ones with the A suffixed, rear most T mark. You might want to give them a call for assistance on which rail options will work. Seeing as you have a flip up on your GB, the midlength cutout would be nice, IMHO.

Like Col_Crocs said, I’d use a Centurion C4 Rail, the mid-length cut out rails should do nicely. Look for the T18A laser engraving for the top. The A denotes the compatibility with the Adams Arms Kits.

Not sure if it will fit your situation, but the Daniel Defense EZ-Car rail fit on a S&W M&P15PS piston system with no problem. The 9" version should fit.

I have the MI gen 2 two piece free float on my mid length Adams Arms set up and its great.

Centurion Arms Cutout Rail with the AA piston gas-block? It looks awesome. I can’t locate the photo I saw. Anyway, here’s where you can get it.

As you can see, it says:

Adams Arms Piston Compatible(Lite & Pinned model)

I had a Samson EVO on a piston gun previously that worked really, really well with the Adams system. You might give that a look.

Stole the words out of my mouth.

Just get a samson or the rainier evo, same thing with a different design(rainier is lighter). They work great on lwrc piston systems FWIW. Once you have a nice modular rail setup, even the nicest of quad rails are disappointing. Just way to damn big for no reason.

The Omega, Omega X, and Lite rails from Daniel Defense all fit the Adams/huldra/spikes/this-space-for-rent kits. The omega would drop right on.

I have a Daniel Defense Omega rail on my Adams conversion. It fit right on with no modifcations, and works well for me.
