In this document http://ra.defense.gov/documents/publications/NGRER%20FY2014.pdf,
it said the Machine Gun: 5.56mm M249 cost $3830 while the Machine Gun: 5.56mm M249 Light cost $2779. What does the document mean by Machine Gun: 5.56mm M249 and Machine Gun: 5.56mm M249 Light? What accounts for the price difference and does the $3830 figure include the cost of the tripod? AFAIK, the M240B unit cost of $6000 did not include the tripod. Thanks.
And the 2 spare barrels and bags? LoL
Sorry, did you mean that the spare barrel and bags were included in the $3830 unit cost? So no tripod? Thanks.
I was sort of answering in a snide way like the additional cost would be the spare barrels… It has been a loooong while since ordering on the ULLS-G and I had an NCO that took care of it for me and never for to order CLVII as that is a Warrant function… But like anything there has to be a summary readout page that tells you what major end item components are included.
Oh wait… You’re not ordering through mil supply you are actually an SOT?? Awh man sorry haha!
I have no idea I do not believe that he SAW comes standard with a tripod as it is not really a crew serve weapon. The spare barrels are a must though.
Thanks for the clarification. No I am not a SOT. I’m doing a Masters of Strategic Studies thesis on weapons procurement and I was just confused about the document.
