Question about gas system length and rails

So I would like to get a DD Mk18 rail, which accord to websites is about 9.5". Now I have on the way a BCM 16" midlength upper, and was wondering if I installed a Troy low profile gas block or the equivalent, how far would the rail cover the gas block? Will it at least cover the gas tube?

It will not work with a midlength, only carbine length gas systems.

Is this true for the DD M4A1 RIS II also?

No, CAR or midlength will fit under these.

I got both of my DD Mk18 rails directly from Daniel Defense.

I’m told that there should be some available in both brown and black in about 5-6 weeks.
