Query about LRB Arms stripped lower

Has anyone any experience with this manufacturer? It is marked produced by LV Precision Machine Company of Seymour, CT.

I have two, work fine. Only complaint is some flashing inside the trigger guard but its just a cosmetic thing.

I have an LRB lower that I’ve used with both a carbine and a precision upper for the last couple of years. I like it very much. Until the insanity started and drove prices through the roof, LRB was one of the best values for a stripped AR lower

Thank you, gentlemen! I was not familiar with this maker. There is one available close to me that I may be able to pick up reasonably and I feared getting a lemon.

I did a build with it. Topped it off with a bcm upper. No complaints, buy with confidence.

I have built several LRB lowers. They are all GTG. Topped off with BCM uppers they have been great rifles for me and several friends. It helps that they are local to me, great bunch of people. Their main business is M14 builds, if that’s your thing. The lowers are forged by JV precision in CT.

More than double what I paid a few months ago but…

My M4gery has an LRB lower as well. LMT lpk from GandR tactical fit like a glove. The noveske upper sits nicely on it.

Pmags and USGI mags fit and drop freely.

Couldn’t ask for more, seeing as I only spent $90 on it last summer…

ive bought 3 and all of them were gtg.
generous magwell… decent finish…

I bought a few LRB’s when they were 90 bucks and they are great. I put DD LPK’s in them with Colt uppers without any issues

Many thanks to everyone for the assistance!

Friend of mine has one that doesn’t like PMags. I saw Dr. Drake somewhere say he has a few LRBs that also don’t like PMags. They probably got that taken care of, my friend’s is a few years old at best.

No issues with a G%R lpk or pmags dropping free. BCM upper sat nice and tight on it.

I’ve been a full time Gunsmith for over 25 years and built more black rifles than I care to remember. That being the case I tell all of my customers looking to build a “black rifle” that LRB AR type lowers are the best deal on the market…they are well made and they “fall together” when using mil-spec parts.

I had this opinion before my youngest son started working at J.V. Precision in Seymour, CT (where they are made) a few months ago. Since then my opinion of them is EVEN HIGHER.

J.V. Precision is a state of the art facility owned and operated by two brothers who have a hard work ethic and believe in old world craftsmanship. They make many of the AR type receivers for various “big name” custom AR type mfgs. (sorry, I won’t name names and jeopordize anyones job-especially my sons). These “famous” receivers are made on the same machines with the same forgings as the LRB lowers. That said, you can’t go wrong with an LRB lower. As a bonus- Lou, the owner of LRB is one of the nicest, most honest and most professional guys in the business. I’ve been doing business with him for years and can attest that he is one of those guys in the business I never mind spending my money with. That’s my two cents, for what it’s worth…and no, I have no vested interest in either company.

Bought a couple locally, no issues G&R and LMT LPKs went in without issue

Are they low shelf, RDIAS capable?

I have an LRB with ~1000rds, no issues so far. Pmags, troy, gi, thermold and others drop free with no problems.

LRB is a quality manufacturer. After having some of their m14 parts, I’d feel perfectly alright with using their AR parts on a build. They don’t cut corners

I built 4 rifles using LRB stripped lowers a couple of years ago. Had no problems at all with any of the builds. They later hosted various uppers which shot well. I don’t remember exactly what I paid for them but at the time they were dirt cheap…IRRC somewhere between $60 and $80 bucks on a group buy. I’d love to find some more at a reasonable price.

I own several LRB lowers. They were one of the best kept secrets in lower receivers. At least when they were selling for $60.00. Even at a higher price they are some of the finest lowers IMO. If you are wanting something that looks cool and is cosmetic appealing go with Noviske or some other receiver.

The older pmags are tight which Magpul corrected several years ago.
