QD socket for any plastic shotgun stock, PICS

I’m pretty sure the ones that brownells carries are grovtec

Alas, the Hogue overmolded stock on my 10-22 is thicker than 1/4 at the butt, and much thicker than that at the forearm. Back to the drawing board. All I need is is a 45/64ths Forstner bit to counterbore for the flange…

Did you guys drill the comfortech stock? No issues doing that?

The plastic used in that stock is flexible and can grab the bit some when you drill it. If I couldn’t clamp it down on the mill I would probably try to get a piece of wood that fit tight in there as a backer for the drilling. You also need to keep the hole far enough away from the rubber inserts to not interfere with the nut on the inside.

The ones from Brownells come in a Brownells yellow parts bag, so it’s hard to say who made them. I’d guess Grovetec or possibly Michaels.
They are also 1/2" in diameter, and 1/2" long. There are a couple grooves on the OD to facilitate epoxy grip, and a hole in the bottom countersunk for a flathead screw, so they can be mounted either way.
I mounted several of these in a GI M1A stock much like the wooden stock pictured. In the forearm, I welded a washer on the back, and I Acraglassed them all in. The washer ensures they cannot pull out.
I wish these had been out, would’ve been much simpler. I’ll remember them for next time.

Thanks, these turned our pretty well and we are extremely happy with them. So far we have found multiple uses for them beyond shotgun stocks. We have a few more things coming soon and might likely be seen at SHOT. Stay tuned as there is more on the way.

Very cool. I’ll be picking some up for my 870 and Gold Hunter.

Glad I decided to browse thru some previously missed/skipped threads. This is exacty what I need for my Blackhawk/Knoxx collapsible stock on my 870, and I’ll get 1 for the MOE stock on my daughter’s AR, and 1 for her standard synth stock on her 870. I may even try 1 out on my son’s Saiga rifle.

This is just tooooo cool! (yes, I tend to get overly excited about simple little innovations  )

Scott, if you don’t mind, could you post a photo how the NST QD installable socket works on the KNOXX Stock? We are trying to collect a photo package of all the uses this item can be installed on. Thanks again for taking a chance on the product, I hope you like it.

Sure thing - glad to be of help.

I just received some of these and promptly mounted them into the plastic buttstocks of both my 870 and my Benelli M2.

Brilliant!

I was initially concerned about the ability of those small teeth on the nut to lock onto the hard plastic, but not to worry, they are solid.

I mounted one on my work 870 with SF IVs stock on Saturday. It is solid and brilliant in its simplicity. I have been looking for a way to mimic my rifle sling configuration for my shotgun and this fit the bill perfectly. It was only $20 to boot. It replaced a GG&G receiver endplate, which also shortened the LOP, even if ever so slightly.

Glad you guys are finding these useful. I know we have when it comes to slinging a shotgun for competition.

Should have more in stock soon. These got big reviews by our fellow competitive shooters at SHOT and some other non comp gun guys found some good uses for them in their line of work.

Sorry to resurrect, but I’m interested in putting this socket into the Urbino stock on my M2.

Looks like you have the socket on the strong side of the stock. Advantages to that?

As an aside, I blindly stumbled on what appears to be another such useful Noveske product that solves my problem as to where to plug in the other end of the QD sling if you have a Nordic barrel clamp.

Heres one for wood / thick stocks. Comes with the drill bits.
