I just help build a Rainier arms custom build that a friend got as a work bonus, $3000 spent overall. Geissele trigger , match barrel, He never shoots it all he talks about is doing mag dumps in a berm 25 feet away with a buddy’s bushmaster with a FRT. Not my ammo or money, I just don’t get it
Freaking “dirt shooters” we called them. So repulsive to me. Buy a cap gun, I say.
Never heard of that one. The suspension springs don’t give design confidence.
I get doing that to test out the tuning of the FRT, but doing that for fun? Weird.
The more accurate a rifle is, the more I enjoy it, kind of a Zen Archer thing.
I understand people want to experiance “Full Auto”, good for them, have at it. Although sometimes exciting, since I’m paying for the ammo and Uncle Sugar isn’t providing it for free anymore, I think I will stick to semi auto.
Now when you get the Bugs worked out on a three round burst trigger, gimmie a call because with three round burst I’m much more likely to get the effect I desire than using full auto.
I agree. I think it’s the same one that our friend brought out. He scooped a bunch of crap up when an FFL here was going under. Sucks too because I’d ship my firearms to them 5 minutes from my work.

Cops don’t use full auto, the military doesn’t use full auto, the only people that want full auto are the people that actually buy their own ammo, and for most people, it gets old and expensive pretty quick.
Yes, I understand beltfeds are a different animal, but it appears we are speaking in generalities about the M4 platform.

I see a lot of booger brained idiots in videos where they’re just dumping rounds into a pond or a hill. Complete brainless nonsense to me.
I dont believe full auto is a sustainable thing for Civilians.
Like I said, show me a three round burst and I’m in. Full auto, In a sustained burst of 20-30 rounds an awful lot of rounds missing the target out of an M4. Lets say you have seven magazines they will all be gone in the first seven minutes of an engagement on full auto.
Who buys the ammo? Who loads the Magazines? Who carries all those Magazines?
You might as well nail your foot to the floor in a fight because you’re not going anywhere quickly and those burst you Love to Fire? They can give your position away. Bad Idea, Bad, Bad Idea.
Sub gun is a way better platform for Full Auto in my opinion.

Handgun caliber with sub sonic ammunition, sounds like an advertisement for a Sten Gun.
You’ll likely keep 50% more on target.
I’ve never fired a “real” sub gun (full auto), but I’ve watched videos of guys who run 100% hits at sub gun distances.
I have this strybog thing with a YHM R9 suppressor. If they made an FRT for that, I might be interested. I bet they make one for the Sig MPX though. That gun shoots way smoother.

Probobly the most difficult sub gun to fire was the M3 “Grease Gun”.
I had a Drill Sergeant that was an absolute expert with the damned thing and he said it was all in being able to control the trigger and get short accurate bursts. Now in training it seemed like everyone just wanted to do a magazine dump.
I think people watch too many movies and have the wrong idea of how it is actually supposed to work.Everyone also said it was only good for shooting people who’ve gotten on top of the Tank with you.
Let me tell you something I have 14 red phosphorus smoke grenades at the tip of my fingers inside that Tank and I aint opening that hatch unless you brought cookies. I know you can’t stay under my gun and hide after the first 7 burn your flesh, so the next 7 will just be for fun.

Yeah I couldn’t hit shit with an M16A1 on full auto, and really never used 3rd burst on the A2.
Full auto MP5 is much more controllable, but that’s apple’s to oranges.
So I always have a reluctance to think of relying on full auto in a rifle for anything beyond 5 yards.
Bump fire once every 2 or 3 years just for the hell of it scratches the fun itch just fine.
My son can bump the stribog like a master. There’s a 10-20% miss rate because of the loose shouldering of bump firing, but it’s pretty cool to watch.
My dead friend Mac used to bump everything, including his Garand.
I can bump my Glock 17 with a “-” Connector in it and standard Trigger Spring, using a Sharpie.
I picked up a Franklin Armory binary trigger on a model clearance sale just to mess around with. I put it in one of my 10.5 guns and a couple of thousand rounds later, mostly suppressed, it has been flawless. Just think of it as a two round burst- squeeze and immediately release the trigger and it will put two rounds into a target that you can cover with your hand. I don’t do mag dumps since I like money but I can definitely see this being used in a defensive situation.
Just spend a few hundred to get an AR pattern lower and rock on.
I have a super cheap Primary Arms house brand upper that cannot be disassembled and came with an unremovable Keymo flash hider. It is designated for testing high rate of fire function with various suppressor/lower/receiver extension/spring/buffer combinations.
Same here, I think I’ve only seen one video of someone using it on a beltfed to engage steel, and that is more fantasy LARPing than it is actual “training”. The various FRTs are going to be a dime a dozen in another few years.
