purchased an FNX-9 last week

I have only one complaint. The hammer is annoyingly scratchy against bare skin during CC. Even through an undershirt it will leave scratches if carried cocked and locked.

I normally would not complain because the notion of this problem did arise before I purchased the weapon.

Anyone have an idea if a smooth hammer is available? I am having no luck looking on the web for one. Any help to locate one would be amazing!

Excellent gun

Agreed ^^^^ Just wish I could find out about the hammer issue…

A holster change will probably straighten things out for you. What are you currently using?

Tried the blackhawk IWB I use on occasion for my Glock 19, with and without an under shirt. Also I can not remember the brand but I have a shoulder holster vertical and horizontal. The shoulder holsters if I remember correctly were around $50-60 each (so cheap ones). What ones should I look into?

If you’ve got a local shop that makes custom kydex or leather holsters, I’d recommend that. Just have them put that little flap of leather between the frame and you on the holster, I’m not a holster maker so I don’t know the term for it. Online pickings are very slim.

Crossbreed. I’ve been using one for over 2 years with my FNP9, and it’s great. Tuckable, conceals well, and comfy for long periods of time. As for the hammer issue, I’ve never really noticed it before. I have not found many replacement parts for the firearm though. It just didn’t really catch on it seems.

EDIT: The Crossbreed has leather completely across the frame of the firearm, so no rubbing. Only disadvantage is it requires a little more practice to get a firm grip when drawing from concealed due to the leather riding so high.

2nd the Crossbreed. Pick up one of their gun belts while you’re there. You won’t regret it.

Congrats on an excellent purchase first of all.

Also check out comptac holsters, they’re a little more compact so the crossbreed may work better as the fnx is a larger gun. RCS also makes a holster for the FNX, so if you like all kydex you may want to go that route.

Ejh28; lincoln7; tdoom15: Thank you all for your suggestions. I will look them all up now and order them. Gun shops in my area are terrible so I know i will have no luck with them.

Sent an email to crossbreed. I can not seem to find a holster for the FNX on their site only the FNP. Hopefully they will get back to me soon and I will be able to place my order. By the look of the supertuck deluxe I believe it will cover the hammer to stop the scratching. Thanks again for the pointers.

Try clevelands holsters, he made a custom one for my FNX 40.

What I would recommend is ordering the FNP holster and using a hair dryer on the kydex to heat it, then shape it to fit your FNX a little better. I did this with my FNP just to get the resistance right for my carry style. Very simple to do, just don’t make any drastic sharp angles. Otherwise the Kydex is pretty forgiving.
