I have a PTR91KFM4 which came with a railed handguard and the HK 93/33 length cocking tube.
It’s accurate and reliable but I’m not digging the rail on on this rifle so I purchased an HK 93 wide fore end. It is the correct length but fits very tight and I’m having trouble lining up and inserting the handguard pin.
The PTR’s barrel appears thicker than that of the 93/33 and I’m thinking that is causing the tight fit.
No, you are not out of luck. . . you simply need to make a few minor mods to your HK93 wide handguard to get it to fit your PTR appropriately.
Please check out forum post #15 of the following thread, where I provide a few photos with descriptions of the mods I made to get a HK93 wide handguard to fit on my PTR32KFR rifle:
It’s a RAM S12XC extended magazine release. I had to modify it to make it work. I made sure not to alter or mod the OEM mag release whatsoever. The work was worth the effort IMO, it works terrifically.
