PSA - vtac. Keep or sell?

Just for the record, I didn’t get burned by PSA. I did not have a penny invested in that upper. It was given to me by a friend to diagnose and fix if possible.

I never have & never will own a PSA AR.

I wouldn’t worry about selling your PSA rifle unless you have problems. While I wouldn’t recommend them as a first or only rifle, my PSA uppers have been fine. My 14.7" and 16" carbine barrel gas ports were around .0625ish, a 1/16 drill bit fit snugly in them. I put together a 16" mid upper for a friend with one of their barrels that fit a 5/64(.078125") drill bit very snugly. Didn’t bother with checking my 14.7 mid but it’s a soft shooter with an A2 flash hider.

If you’re really worried then buy a Colt/DD/BCM/etc. and and set the PSA aside for range/training use or sell it. But it’s a big improvement over a BM. The difference between my 14.5 BM Car and 14.7" PSA Car was night and day as far as felt recoil with standard FHs on both. I believe BM uses 8620 for their bolts and PSA uses C158.

While their CS is very slow, they’ve always taken care of me when I had any issues. If you’re in Texas I’d be glad to let you take a look at any of my rifles before you get yours in.

I think this one is done. We have led you to the water…you have to decide whether or not to drink it.
