Good. I believe PSA did the same for CA for the short time their mag ban was suspended.
I’ve been telling the COVID panic first time gun buyers that they should be stocking up on mags every chance they get. One response I got was “I’ve got six mags for my AR, that should last me a lifetime.” I didn’t even know how to respond.

Sounds like my son in law. When he bought his first AR a few years ago I gave him 5 magazines as a starter pack. A few months ago I sent him a link to PSA’s $7.99 D&H mags with free shipping and suggested he buy some. He said “nah, I’m good. I still have the five you gave me”.
Same here, two different people, one was a covid panicker, the other was a race riot panicker. Helped them find their first AR that didn’t cost them an arm and told them to get a bunch of magazines. Each bought 3. One guy shot his AR once in two years, both times with me coaching and helping, as he couldn’t get to load the magazine or chamber a round. The other one … I think he tossed the gun in the back of the closet and that was the last time he saw it.
PSA was running the aluminum D&H mags a few days ago fro $8.99 so I ordered 10 just because. Glad they are shipping them to a soon to be banned state first to spread the freedom around.
It’s easy to forget that for the people that you and I mentioned this is either just a once ever year or two hobby and/or it gives them the ability to tell people at the watercooler at work “Yeah I got an AR15”.
I suspect that out of the millions of new gun owners that the panic produced, less than 10% of them have even fired those guns and even less will seek any type of training. There’s only one guy that I know of who panic bought an AR and a Glock 19 in 2020 that is still shooting them on a semi regular basis. He hits me up once a month or so to ask if I want to go shooting, but it’s always on the weekends and weekends are family time. I typically go shooting mid week, the woods are quiet then.
People thought I was nuts a few years ago when I bought 2 cases of D&H mags with magpul followers for like $599 per case…

Maybe. As I mentioned though, weekends are family time so I usually shoot on Wednesdays. Today was beautiful and not a soul in sight.
Also, I’m completely uninterested in going shooting with most people except my family and a few close friends. This guy is more of an acquaintance. I know lots of guys like to gather a bunch of dudes and make a whole saturday bromance of it, but it just isn’t for me.
