I would like to hear from those who use them what’s the best way to wear a chest rig.
Mostly height adjustment and any other details you think are important.
I have no experience with them but would like to use one for training.
Thanks

User preference. There is no right or wrong way, as long as it is not on backwards.
Each rig is different. Trial and error. Everyones body type and equipment layout is unique.
The only way to know for sure is buy a quality rig that has the options that are important to you. Load it up and go shoot. Make adjustments as needed. Find your sweet spot. That will give you the feed back you need (likes/dis-likes) when you decide to make another purchase…or, you may have found the one that is right for you.
Back to square one now, aren’t you?
Thanks but not really, I have the rig (TTMAV) but though maybe some would have some good basic tips to save me having to go through moving stuff all over.
My preference is to not have the mag pouches directly in front, probably comes from using the old style LBE for a while.
…
Where I put my gear revolves around my magazine access.
I want to be able to quickly, intuitively, place my hand on my speed reload or feeder pouch without having to look at it or fumble. I want my grip to be as powerful as possible (depending on location) and move smoothly from the pouch to the gun with as little wasted motion as possible.
I prefer to have my primary speed reload pouch (pistol or rifle) at 10:00 to 11:00, with the next just aft of the primary.
I prefer the mags to sit at abdomen level, or the draw stroke is too high, resulting in a lot of wasted motion.
I like to have at least one mag at 9:00 to 10:00 for reloads from the prone that do not force the shooter to compromise position.
I like to have at least one mag assessible for a support-side reload. I don’t necessarily have one that is only for that puropse, usually just the far right mag pouch on my front.
If the rig is made to wear high, it is usually a good idea to run a belt-mounted speed reload.
I agree with most off what’s already posted. Your body type, the particular chest rig, and even your application and use of the rig is going to matter. For me, a chest rig is a way to carry support gear and spare ammo to the line, because I want to load from my belt, and if possible use my carry holster and pouches, which means I need to keep my rig higher in order to have access to the belt-mounted gear. I also happen to have a long torso and wear my britches a little low on my hips so I don’t have to put the rig as high as some others might.
Thanks all,
F2S -Thanks for breaking it down with good reasoning.
