Problem with LULA mag loader

I keep misplacing the damn thing. Where do you keep yours, range bag, bench?

I would suggest range bag unless you load your mags at home. Even then you probably would be putting the mags in a range bag…so…range bag.

they have a lanyard attachment built in. I keep it tethered to my ammo can…

I have been wondering about the Lula for awhile? What benefits does it provide, other than fewer sore fingers? Do you feel like it is an important part of consistently loading magazines?

Sorry for all the Q’s/ Just curious.

I like mine. Yeah, a lanyard is the way to go. When you flip the toggle, it pushes the other rounds down into the mag. With that, you can literally “drop” the next round in. Flip the toggle in the opposite direction and drop the next round in. Repeat until loaded.

After I think about it, it will save a little bit of friction on the feedlips.

Does this tool eliminate the need to shake and smack magazines while loading? I usually do a little shake and smack about every 5-10 rounds while loading by hand. I have found in the past that without the shake/smack I will sometimes get a “void” where I can hear a loose cartridge in the mag somewhere (presumably due to a slight misalignment of cartridges). I don’t know if this influences reliability of feeding, but I don’t take chances.

It’s like sliding a round in with no spring tension at all. Imagine sliding a round onto a little shelf with no tension around it in any direction.

Yes, they should stack up fine with no further banging and shaking.

I believe the ultimate solution will be buying a second loader and a dedicated range bag just for my AR gear :o

Yes. The loader holds on via the lug on the magazine and every cartridge goes where it is supposed to. It also unloads mags in seconds.

Thanks for all the fine suggestions.

I use an inexpensive, molle attaching double AR15 mag pouch. I keep both the pistol and AR loader packed up and ready on the bug out bag. It’s with me in the truck at all times so I can’t forget it.

I really like the Maglula’s. I’ve got four. I’ve got the pistol mag loader, the AR mag loader with the toggle and I’ve got two of the striplulas. As you might guess, I prefer the striplula. This is because 1) it’s much more compact than the others, 2) works with stripper clips as well as loose rounds and 3) unlike the one with the toggle, doesn’t require three hands to work. I bought two because I misplaced the first one and loved it so much.

I used my striplula for the first time today. Wow! I loaded three mags in seconds (with lose rounds).

I keep mine in my range bag. It’s especially key when reloading on a time range lane.

the striplula is great. i have a couple that i keep in my ammo bag.
