Problem: Installing JP Safety Selector / KNS pins

I installed my JP Selector and KNS anti-rotation pins last night and now the gun won’t fire. Any common probs that may cause this?

check it out…

I’m not chiming in on this one.

I think that we covered this subject before… https://www.m4carbine.net/showthread.php?t=17929

You installed it wrong. (maybe; your springs may not be installed correctly?) Take a look at how “cuts” on the original selector are facing in relation to how the “lever” is facing. I would bet that yours are 90/180 deg off.

I’m sure it ran good before these “upgrades”…?

.

Sure, I have no pride…

thanks man. I had a feeling it was’nt in there right. I bet I do just need to rotate it… And yes it did work perfect before I “upgraded”. The KNS anti rot pins seem like a smart idea. The KNS takedown pins are plain stupid, I’ll go back to the original pins asap.

You have the selector on upside down…the screw side goes on the right…

can you reiterrate? You can screw the selector switch into either side of the selector shaft and it can flip 180degrees on the shaft also. not sure the position of the selector switch itself does anything, its the shaft that is upside down and causing the problem I believe. Correct me if I’m wrong

When you assembled it, was the gap in the center facing up or down when the arm of the selector was facing towards you?

Im not sure exactly, I have to take it apart and look again but I think your on to it. I did it at midnight which was a bad idea. After it failed I said “F’it” & went to bed and will deal w/ it after work tonight…

If I can’t figure it out I will take some detailed pics of the exact problem, txs again

I think you would have some great info to help this guy out.

Uhh… You’ve got it on safe.

J/K, couldn’t resist…

Good luck on getting it sorted out, I think the others definately have you on the right track!

…already gotta kiss…

this trigger hasn’t failed due to poor construction. Its my lack of knowledge and inability to read instructions properly… :o

I’m just sayin’.

Should have listened to ya’ll from the beginning. O well, learn from our mistakes right

I got everything working but this thing is way to finicky for me. I would expect it will only cause me problems in the future. I don’t see any benefits other than the looks of it and the ability to use it on the otherside for left handers. Not for me…

txs for the ‘good’ advice though eh
