I’m really starting to like these guys, English Defense League. About the only Brits with any balls left. Note the Bobby taking away the Englishman’s sign while protecting the islamofascists and their signs.

Have to be careful of the EDL, some places it is essentially the BNP, which are/were/was turning into essentially skinheads.
‘Youth’ protests in the UK that make the news are like… blah. Even the hippies don’t like M.E.s though.

I wouldn’t want to be associated with any of them. shrug I’ve never worked for the UK government but I’m betting they didn’t have the proper permits or the equivalent for a counter protest. Over there they show pictures of the WBC and say that’s what most Americans are like. Drama for the evening news.

Apparently they forgot to fill out their 27B/6 form. English government can be a bit of a stickler for paperwork. I mean, where would we be if we didn’t follow the correct procedures?
sigh Everytime you see a news item “Protestors have been arrested” etc. There are usually two reasons a) they didnt get a permit, b) they got violent. This applies in the US as well.
I oppose permits for free speech and peaceable assembly and other human rights.
That’s what hippies always say when you arrest them. 
Seriously though, it’s the most effective way to enforce time, manner and place laws. I’ve heard all the arguments, everyone appreciates them when they don’t have people making noise all night though.
Thank God we don’t have that shit here…yet.

I agree with you most of the time. Large demonstrations require more effort than a few dudes on the corner holding signs. The few dudes on the corner holding signs should not need a permit. 10 000 or 100 000 people gathering in one are might.
