THey cover the story at the mall, and call the hero a ‘bystander’. Then, for some unknown reason, they mention another shooting in Indy and have that mayor spout off that constitutional carry was a mistake. Now the second shooting is even called a ‘targeted shooting’ which to me means something personal or gang related- and totally unrelated to CCW and permits-- But they had to get that dig in about it…

We need to coin a better identifier than “Good Samaritan” or “Bystander”. Something addresses that they are a regular citizen, that they were armed, and that they acted.

It’ll never happen, but ever since the Waffle House kid fought off that shooter a few years ago, I thought there should be some kind of award for conspicuous acts of heroism like that. That kid should be appropriately feted, and encouraged in his manliness and valor. If I was the Chief I’d have a serious conversation with him. Good show!
I shit you not, there are actually anti-gun folks freaking the F out over this. Apparently the mall does not allow carry. They are calling this young man a criminal. Some are calling for his arrest. It’s F’ing nuts.

According to some folks on an Indiana sub on Reddit, the mall is posted but the signs carry no legal weight.
Given the last 5-6 years there is almost nothing I wouldn’t at least consider as possibly true, except maybe the guy being invited to a White House reception in his honor.

Lenox Square (Atlanta’s once a ritzy, upscale mall) installed metal detectors at their entrances last year, after a string of shootings inside and outside of the mall. I haven’t been there in at least 8 years and certainly won’t set foot in there in the future.
This is adjacent to my AO. I responded as it happened on my way home from shift. Helped do the clearing after the bad guy was taken out. Phenomenal work by the good guy. Good guy was a 22 year old male with a Glock who engaged the shooter within two minutes of his attack. He used cover and movement tactics to advance on the shooter, firing 10 rounds and neutralizing him. Bad guy fired 24 rounds from a Sig M400.
Best part is, he was carrying on our new Constitutional Carry law that took effect July 1st. The bad part is, the mall has a “no guns” policy so the communist media is haranguing him for carrying “illegally” (signs carry no weight in Indiana, only trespass if asked to leave). The leftist blast in unconscionable.
I guess the would rather the bad guy have his reign of terror. Morons.
