My bet is next one will be a restrictive city within quick drive of a free state so they can say “if this can happen in a gun-free city it means we’re not gun-grabbing hard enough! and because there’s a permissive state right next door we need to federalize all gun laws to CA/HI style…”
This isn’t a good look for Uvalde. One dude armed with probably a keltec or something went toe to toe with a mass shooter with probably an AR15 and lived to tell the tale. Not looking good for those multiple cops who refused to respond.

Unless an even bigger batch of wannabe “Super Troopers” or rejects from Brooklyn Nine-Nine or Reno 911! decide to throw their hats in the ring… hell, I think the crew from Sledge Hammer or Leslie Nielsen’s Police Squad coulda handled Uvalde better.
I don’t know if you guys caught the story but the day after Uvalde happened a woman in Charleston, West Virginia pulled a pistol and stopped a guy who was shooting an AR-15 into a crowd that had gathered for a party. No one was hurt except the bad guy, he’s dead. Another mass shooter stopped by a concealed carrier. I suspect there are many more stories like this that we don’t even hear about.
Just wait. Malls will start installing body scanners to keep out armed CHL people that might want to violate the shopping centers “code of conduct”. It’s coming.
The good guy should have waited for over an hour to engage the shitbag. It’s a proven approach!!
