i see people using all kinds of different primers for their loads and was wanting to know how to determine what primer is needed for what type of load or is it just a personal preference?
what i’m wanting to load are 55gr FMJ and 75/77gr BTHP and decided on using TAC powder from researching the site.

The reloading manual will tell you what primer they used to get the printed results.
Everything varies in reloading so you can use different small rifle primers for your load but you always start low and work your way up. If you load to the max, some suggest that you start all over again when you open a different box of primers, change the brass, or even the powder lot.

just went and bought a lyman reloading manual, will be reading it tonight.
any other reloading manuals that you would suggest that are more concentrated on .223 rem?
