Primary Arms Micro Dot

I’ve read alot of reviews around the '09-'10 timeframe (I used the search button) They all seemed pretty good.

I’m just wondering if anyone has had one for a while and if they’ve had problems. I am a buy once cry once kinda guy, but this is going on a 10/22 plinker and I’m not putting a $500 H1 on it, and even the $200 Vortex SPARC isn’t as attractive as the $86 shipped the PA Micro Dot is.

I’m mainly concerned with zero retention and dot clarity out to 25 yards. At 0.75" dot at 25 yards should be adequate for anything I need to shoot.

I bet you’re fine for that application. Shit! I ran a $19 BSA red dot on my 10/22. It’s taken a beating and still works fine… Something is rattleing inside it… but it still works.

You’ll be fine. Easily worth the money for that application.

Yeah, for a plinker, they’re all kinds of good.

Putting that on a .223/5.56 gun = madness.

I have had one on an m&p 15-22 since the first quarter of 2010; no issues in zero retention. I dont keep track of rounds through it, but its well into the thousands. Take that as range sessions involving transport of the gun rather than a comment on perceived recoil of the lowly deucedeuce causing zero shift.

I had one for awhile until I got a real T-1, it held zero, it worked, no complaints. Doesn’t have the battery life of an H-1 or T-1 and I wouldn’t feel comfortable chucking it down my driveway but for a range toy it’s perfect.

One thing I should mention–the Primary Arms brand QD riser mount is butt. Not really related to you since you’ll be sticking it on a 10/22, but if you ever decide to move it to another gun either get the high mount that’s screw-on or get a higher quality QD mount designed for a real T-1.

Thanks guys. I’m not expecting battlefield reliability, just that it works like its supposed to at the range. Sounds like I’ll be fine.

Mark, are you sure that rattling isn’t coming from inside your head?

Edit: LOL I meant to say “inside the mount” but I’ll leave it the way it is. I guess thats what my subconscious thoughts meant to say

Ive run the Primary micro on one of my ARs for 2 years now. Its been through multiple classes and taken some abuse. Its a great product for thew money. The only distinguishable difference between this and a T1 are water resistance (minimally), battery life (significant), and price (significant). If you are using this for home defense and would prefer to always have it on then pay for the aimpoint. If not save the money and get primary arms.

I believe I have a Gen III sitting atop my Century FAL. Hasn’t lost zero yet in a couple hundred rounds. But my FAL is just a range toy, anyway.

I have 3.

One on my Saiga 12, 600 rds, 300 slugs, works fine, holds zero.

2 on 556 guns running great.

My social gun has an Aimpoint.

I have it on my Bulgy AK74 with Ultimak for about 8-9 months now. Still with same battery, about 2,000 rounds through rifle with this optic. No issues whatsoever. And I don’t handle my gear with white gloves either…
