Primary Arms Micro Dot Gen 3 review

Link

Please read the whole thing before posting…I’m not saying chuck your T-1 in favor of this clone…I am saying that it might make a good optic for your training rifle.

I have one of these to try the concept of a T-1. I’m quite impressed so far!

Would I put it on a primary SHTF rifle? Probably not, but for a range rifle - no problem.

Thanks for the review. It’s nice to see that there is an option for a sub $100 red dot that won’t immediately fail. For serious rifles, I’ll stick with aimpoints, but I have some guns I’d like to try a red dot on that aren’t.

If the battery life is anything like the M3 clone I had on a GSG5 you’ll spend the same amount on batteries within a year to make up the difference between the two.

Those prices are shipped. Spend $20 and have enough batteries for several years of constant use. If you are buying 2032s for $5 apiece at Walgreens or something, then yeah, that’ll add up. But I don’t see why you’d put $5 batteries in a $60 optic, especially if it was for range use only.

Whoa, thanks for the link on the batteries.

I’d probably not use the batteries on my T-1, but for the clone they’ll keep it running for a long time, haha

7 days battery life continuous use according to your review? That’s only 168 hours, haha

Hi guys, Sorry to bring this back to life…

Long story short I have been eager to buy one of this Primary Arms M3Clones’s the problem is Im from Europe. (I can’t seem to find them anywhere)

Anyone has any ideia how? I mean I could give the money to a USA friend and then he could buy it and ship it to me right?
(I just need to find someone i can trust:p)

Cya and Thanks

I got a gen 3 micro in an AK Ultimak bundle a few months ago. The plan was to put a cheap optic on the AK for hunting, and plinking. I don’t know how many times I have been out hunting in the rain, so water and fog proof is a must for me. So I preformed a few tests (as I do with all my optics) to see how it would hold up. The first test was a submersion test in a mop bucket. The micro did not do well at all (full of water and fogged up within a few minutes) I put both my Vortex Strikefire and Sparc through the same test, and the both handled it all night with no problem. Long story short…the AK now has my Strikefire on it, I sent the clone back to Pimary Arms for store credit, and replaced it with an Aimpoint Comp M3 for my AR

I failed to say that this is to use in a Costum made airsoft gun.

Here in Europe it’s a hasle to try to have a real AR 15 or any firearm to shoot, besides shooting ranges fees and ammo is highly priced and you have a limited buying amount.

In airsoft i can buil legally a costum 500FPS+ with 0.30 BB’s , has long has I don’t use it to shoot at people(i mean adversaries) or use it in any type of airsoft competition.

I got one without the killflash for my .22 upper. JMHO, it works great for a range gun but I wouldn’t use one on gun I needed to bet my life on.

Here is a real nice video review on the Primary Arms & Aimpoint T1 side by side that I stumbled into the other day. Well done, worth watching.

Saw that vid last week. I ended up ordering the T1 anyway

I use the Primary arms sites as side mounted off set sights on my three gun rifle, precision varmit rifle, and on my 22 long rifle ar trainer. I use Aimpoints on my patrol rifle, my AK and on my Noveske with the Magnifier.
Both have their place and Marshall gives great service.

The pic shows the Aimpoint but I moved that one to the SCAR and put a Primary arms unit back on this rifle.

Aimpoints.
