I am thinking about getting a LMT 10.5 UPPER and got a chance to get a New PRI Gasbuster for $60.00. Or should I get a Reg. charge handle and save the extra $40.00 ?
I run Gasbusters on all of my M16FOW’s.
and $60 is a good price
$60, where, do tell I’ll get a few.
Absolutely neccessary with a can. Although I also put a bead of black RTV on these to better seal out the gas.
I’m running a PRI Gasbuster on my LMT 10.5" but I paid more than $60.
Go for it!
I generally prefer the gas buster, whether or not running a can, because I like the latch on it, and the overall CH is beefier than the stock unit. With that said, I have encountered issues with running the gas buster and a Vltor stock, wherein the little lip on the upper forward edge of the stock tube can interfere with the charging handle. The solution, for me anyway, was to shave that lip off of the stock with a knife and a file.
here’s a few side-by-side comparisons of a stock unit vs. the PRI. Both have the latch.
PRI is on the bottom

PRI is on the right

I too have a gas buster and $60 is a bargain for it.
For $60 I would get two of them. If you only have one AR a charging handle is a good start for a new build.![]()
what is the primary purpose of this other than the fact that its beefy-er? the description on their web site says its to prevent particals from flying back into the shooters face. I ve never had particals hit me in the face with a stock charging handle. Not trying to be a smart ass I just dont understand. ![]()
Shoot it with a suppressor and you will become immediately enlightened!![]()
Stole your pic rob;

In the top view picture, you can also see it has an additional relief, venting in the same direction.
I am sure Wes,MSTN gave me a better price because I plan on getting a complete LMT 10.5’’ MK18 MOD0 Clone upper, less the handguards,LMT ,M16 BCG with Crane O-rings,LMT BUIS and I think about getting the Gasbuster for $60.00 or two. Unless I find a better price somewhere else.
I have a brand new KAC RAS + a lot of rail KAC panels and KAC front grip.
If you find a better price, let us know:eek:
Yes you will.
I was skeptical about the GB, until I shot my can w/o one, not pleasant.
It would be nice to see a GB offered. ![]()
I have 2 carbines, one with a Bushy upper and regular charging handle with a Tac-Latch, and the other a VLTOR MUR with a Gasbuster. The Gasbuster takes considerably more effort to move as does the other one - at least twice, if not more. Is this normal? Might it be a function of different tolerances in the uppers?
It’s sounds like it’s binding up somewhere in your upper. Something ain’t right there or at the carrier/key.
I love the PRI Gasbuster charge handle.
Even without a suppressor, it just feels better.
I will note that a Gasbuster handle will not work with Ciener 22lr conversion unit.
I’m using one of the FN contract BCG’s I bought from Grant. I’ll do a swap with the CMT BCG that’s in the other gun, and/or try the G-B in the other one. If it works in the other gun, and does not work in the MUR with the other BCG, would it likely be an issue with the MUR?
BTW, I am a huge fan of the PRI charging handle on direct gas m4 varients.
Take off you upper, flip it over, apply surefire, and tell us where it’s binding.
And, in the unlikely event you run HK 416s, the gas buster DOES NOT work and can cause complications that need to be resolved with tools.
