And those are just the optics on BigJoe’s rifles!![]()

i’m a equal opportunity gun owner, they all deserve a chance
Yep there goes BigJoe again, Whoring himself out to all those fine ass guns.![]()
Thanks for posting this! This is the perfect excuse to put together a bolt rifle up to the task. I have had thoughts about a .243, .260, or 7mm-08, but I am really trying to focus on semi-autos right now due to the possibility of future unfavorable political climates. Maybe a LMT MWS is justified:D
My favorite fun shooting is to pick out multiple targets at unknown distances and move as quickly as I can through them, no moving on to the next target until the current target is hit. Now, I am no long-range guru, or even a skilled amateur, but this is exactly the kind of shooting I enjoy.
I am a little bummed to see no mention of Utah on the list of states, but depending on locations, Idaho, Nevada, or Wyoming may be doable. I am definitely going to be looking into this.
i have friends in UTah who shoot precision matches fairly regularly. Look up sniper country for courses offered out of salt lake. I’ll have to see if i can get the schedule from my friend on when/where they shoot in utah.
hope that helps ya
Decisions, decisions. I was saving up to purchase a Colt 6920mp for my patrol car. I wonder how well it would do in this type of competitive shooting with a simple optics swap from a eotech and then back again. I can’t afford two different rifles at this time.

5.56 guns will put you at a disadvantage for the bigger matches as some have targets out to 1100 yards. Minimum i would run is a 6.5 grendel or a 308 gas gun. I see OBR"s and MWS’s fairly regularly, most gassers are swapping over to the 6.5’s or 6’s as barrels are becoming more available. If you running matches as a training opportunity and run a 308 bolt or gas gun in your patrol car or at work then by all means but pushing even 77grn out of a SPR you’d be hard pressed to see impacts at the longer matches if they are even allowed.
Cool, many thanks!
If you haven’t tried these matches, you owe yourself the favor. A lot of fun and a lot of lessons learned every time.
As a Buckeye state resident, just wanted to point out that Thunder Valley Precision’s web page is www.thundervalleyprecision.com
