Just curious if .308 auto’s are appropriate or being regularly employed at these courses?

Course description calls for at least a 1moa capable rifle…and I think most of the systems above just border around that capability. I just didn’t know if they are considered up to the task.
We had a guy in our PR class that was running a JLD PTR-91 rifle. he was able to do remarkably well out to 800, but 900 and 1000 were less than stellar with hit percentages dropping dramatically. Not the most accurate rifel tho and the scope ran out of elevation too.
Other guys with bolt 308s were not having any issues at all even with 178gr AMAX.
I would assume that a quality rifle capable of 1MOA accuracy would suffice regardless of action type, make or model.
It is pretty amazing to watch calibers like the 300wm or the 260rem compared to the trace on the 308. they are super flat where the 308 looks like a rainbow when you get out there.
