Just thought it bore relevancy on recent decisions. I laugh when I hear people talk about the Constituion as a “living” document. While the main body which dictates government may be changed. The BoR was never intended to, in fact it was intended to remain EXACTLY the same. Sadly this has not been the case, as the Supreme Court has gone about undoing the primary duty of government: to protect the lives and property of its citizens.
It’s funny that rights such as the 4th, 5th, 6th, 7th and 8th are so unlimited that they can be absurdly extended to enemy aliens and child rapists and any other common criminal, but that the 1st and 2nd might be otherwise subject to “reasonable restrictions” on the law-abiding citizen.
Just something to think about when deciding who will nominate the next Supreme Court Justices.
