Thinking of doing some house cleaning and I found a pre-94 Colt lower sitting back in the safe all lonely. Like new condition. Question: does this have any value over and above a post-94 lower for the folks in enemy held territory?
For CT, unless it is one of the very rare ones marked “Colt Carbine”, it will be a no go. If marked AR-15, Sporter or SP1, it’s banned here. IIRC, NY should be GTG. We AWBs all pay premiums for preban lowers, to the point of ridiculousness. 5, 6, 700 bucks for a lower is common. And that’s not for a Colt.
What are its markings and serial number?
I’m sure someone in Mass would scoop it up in a hurry as that’s all we can put the good stuff on… ie sliding stocks. Colt preban stuff definitely commands a premium. Let me know if you decide to sell it, I’d be interested. Also, what’s the serial prefix and first few digits?
