I am looking for a pouch to carry my PRC 152/ Harris Falcon III and I’m wondering if anyone has any experience with them. I’m leaning toward the diamondback tactical one but I don’t like the bungee on top because it would make it difficult to remove the radio from the pouch with both the antenna and headset attached. I don’t like the tactical tailor one because the strap goes across the ptt button and it seems like that would make it very easy to inadvertently “hot mic” the radio. The radio needs to be easily removed because I like to mount the radio on the back of my flak, and it needs to be easy for someone else to take it out if I have to troubleshoot my comm. Thanks for your input.
DBT makes good gear. As long as you go with a reputable manufacturer, everything else is pretty much personal preference.
DBT might make some decent vests but that does not guarantee that any specific item will meet the operational needs of the end-user. I’m not saying that the DBT 152 pouch is bad, just that it is an unknown to anyone that has not actually used one, and information from someone that has used several different ones and can compare and contrast the different options out there would be the best source.
There are many different ways that the 152 case can be constructed with varying types of retention and ease of removal- some of which impair functionality of the channel knob, volume control, headset connector, or pose a risk of inadvertant mic activation. Some pouches will be more conducive to front carry, some toward side carry, and others to back carry. It’s like any other issue with load-out; what is the intent and circumstance? In this instance it has been defined, and recommendations are much more useful when adhered to or the deviation of use is noted for the OP to consider.
Remember the intent of the forum: first hand information is preferred, second hand information from a known vetted source is acceptable, and first hand information from an experienced vetted individual is king.

Unfortunately there is about a snowballs chance in hell of me being able to get a KDU for my 152 from my company. I think I’m gonna try to run the dbt pouch at about the 1100 position with a TCI MAST to locate the antenna on my back and a H-250 handset from the radio. We get issued the radios SL-3 with a submersible headset but they garble everything up. I’m doing a helo raid course in a couple of weeks. I’ll update with results.

I’m a huge fan of Tactical Tailor’s gear. I would highly recommend their PRC 152 pouch. Radios can get pretty damn annoying, especially when you have to constantly check/ change freqs, and this one addresses those issues (unless you mount it on your back).
