Practical differences between sling types

Guys,

I honestly do not know the difference between two point and one point slings.

Can one of you learned gentlemen explain it to me?

Also**

Why do people prefer one over the other? The guy who ran the tactical course I took last year likes single point.

Here’s a good starting place:

I prefer the 2 point sling. I use a Vickers model and also an updated Boonie Packer.

One point. Good for short, light carbines, transitioning quickly to the support side shoulder. Attached, preferably, at the castle nut location give or take. Downside, not so good for admin/slung maneuvering.

Two point. Good for slung/admin stuff as it stabilizes the gun better. Attached, typically, at the barrel nut at the front and either the castle nut or the rear of the stock. Downside, slower transitions to support side shoulder.

Nice simple description there, A+.

With that being said, I prefer two point as I feel (for me) it’s easier to adjust.

Thanks guys.

Great pics, Rob.

Could we see some pictures of them on the shooter in both at ease position and “at ready” or, in the firing positions?

Show how you would look with the gun if you were just standing and also if you put it to your shoulder.

Thanks!
