PPI 2092 Stand Alone Plate

has anyone used this plate yet? My concern is the weight. 8 pounds is kinda heavy. But I guess that is a matter of how/when your using it. Pro’s Cons?

I am a bit late to replying to this, but I just got my hands on some surplus 2092’s. I was going to shoot a few with 5.56, 7.62x39 and 7.62 Nato to see how well they stand up. I will post up when I am done with the test.
