Quick facts:
Bought from Silencer Shop and the form 3 went without a hitch to my LGS (which will remain unnamed out of respect)
Went to LGS last Friday 3/21 to see it when I rec’d delivery confirmation
Informed that the delivery was to the store’s other address for receiving of such items…hmm
Was provided the gentlemen’s name to call about it (LGS is named after him)
Spoke to him, great talk about process, emailed him my trust doc’s, etc. so he can e-file. He was to email me a doc for me to sign and scan back.
never rec’d email
Went by today to see if gentlemen was in to make sure he would provide form
Notified that the co-owner is now the ‘owner’…okay…call gentleman back and ask WTF in a respectful way
He notifies me that his partner is trying to take over the store and that he’s been notified by the court to cease and desist selling firearms…interesting.
As such, he can’t sell at the moment. Gentleman is working through it and said he’ll be back up and running in 2 weeks…not to worry. he is still going to e file for me asap. would email me the doc’s asap to sign and return.
I didn’t receive email again today…
So, with that out of the way. I don’t want to risk some legal b.s. where my form 4 isn’t filed due to some legal b.s. that isn’t my problem. Nor do I want it filed and then have it ready but held up due to some court room bs.
Is it worth it to have him transfer to another LGS where I can at least use it at the range while I wait for the stamp? It would require another form 3 of course…
Thoughts?

can a suppressor be transferred to multiple stores via a form 3? if I wanted to get it to another LGS that is?
Why would you think it couldn’t be? It’s a tax free transfer, just more wait time…but at least you’d have a light at the end of the tunnel.
Tax free, yes.
The outgoing and incoming FFLs will most likely want some $$$$ for their services though. Just something to consider.

Form 3 transfers can be done all day long, personally I would give the shop an ultimatum to either submit your paperwork or transfer it to another dealer who will and have them pay the fees (if the other shop has any). Efiles take literally 4-5 minutes (provided the system is working, lol…).
Now, for an update.
I called this AM and discussed the possibility of transferring to the other LGS if his court dealings had a remote chance of screwing up my transfer…
I think my mention of another form 3 to another LGS got things moving. He provided me the form 4 to sign / check the boxes as well as one other form to sign and list the name of my trust paperwork necessary promptly after the call and is working on it. He doesn’t want to lose his fee obviously. Now the issue is the site is giving him some grief today…will call back shortly.
Also found out more info so I’m thinking we are good to go. This guy has been doing this for 10+ years and knows his stuff. The young biz partner of his is trying to f him up with the store but he’s got 2 companies…one for transfer type stuff like he’s doing for me and the store is set up as a differnet company.
Just so you know he wasn’t just full of shit when he said eforms was down today;

Good to know. He said it’s going to be in either by COB tomorrow or Friday depending on the site functionality. I trust him thus far. He’s really been upfront with all the info and very responsive. Thanks for this last post…again, good to know.
