Police dog saves partner’s life after ambush attack in Mississippi woods

Assailants assault a Deputy Sheriff during a traffic stop, and drag the deputy into the woods to kill him. Deputy Sheriff remotely releases his K9, who in turn engages the scumbags, sending them injured and fleeing. Thank God for the Malinois, and may the Deputy heal quickly.

A police dog is being hailed a hero after the K9 saved the life of a Mississippi sheriff’s deputy, ripping into the men authorities say dragged the officer into the woods Monday in an ambush attack.

Frazier’s life was saved Monday by his K9 partner, Lucas, a black Belgian Malinois who police say chased the assailants down before they could slit Frazier’s throat, according to the newspaper.

And some people still consider dogs “just property.”

Your couch is “just property”, your couch isn’t going to come save your ass at risk to it’s own life.

Most dogs are “better people” than a lot of the people I know.

Remote release is a neat trick, made all the difference, real glad the deputy was capable of doing it.

Sadly not every officer is as deserving. This one pissed me off this week.

Two Hialeah K9s found dead in cop’s SUV at Davie home

On Wednesday morning after returning home from his midnight shift, Enriquez entered his home without Jimmy and a 4-year-old Belgian Malinois he also cared for named Hector. He left the dogs in the back cabin of a Ford Explorer SUV with the engine turned off.

When Enriquez returned to the car several hours later, the dogs were dead.

I read on TOS that the dog used a nose print thing to let himself out.

IMO, the FL cop should be summarily terminated AND charged with animal cruelty and any other charge that might apply.

Tech has come a long way.

Agreed. Up to and including everything here:
