Polarized sunglasses and red dot sights... any issues?

Hi all,

I am considering purchasing my first red dot sight (Aimpoint T-1 2MOA). Since I shoot with polarized sunglasses on sunny days, I was wondering if the polarized lenses may have any adverse affect on the use of a red dot sight (any sight, e.g. Aimpoint, EOTech, Trijicon RMR, etc). I searched the archives and didn’t find anything substantive on the subject. Thanks!

Chris

I’ve used polarized sunglasses with a Comp M-2 (NVD compatible), R-1 and H-1 with no issues.

I shoot with polarized Oakleys & have no issues with any of my red dots (Aimpoint Pro and EOTechs).

I only use polarized glasses and never had a problem. BTW, if your not using polarized glasses for fishing, your missin fish.

Zero issues. Biggest issues are window tint film, and gas pump/digital displays.

Great. Thanks, guys.

No issues at all. I use Revision Sawfly glasses, no worries.

I wear Rudy Project and it has allowed me to turn the setting down by about 1 click on my T1. It is not QUITE as bright if I had not, and was using only my naked eyes, but it becomes do-able and comfortable with the glasses vs. “No, man, that’s not going to work for me” without them. Buy lenses that enhance red. Yes, mine are photochromic and polarized.

Basically, setting 8 becomes setting #8.5 or so, when I put them on.

Zero issues here with Aimpoint also, but I’ll add to your problem list - the viewfinder on my camera. It is horrible in landscape mode, but perfectly clear in portrait mode.

Yes, an issue.

You can cross polarize the reflex, EoTech and similar, types.

AKA shoot sideways and reticle disappears

Kyle Lamb put out a video a while back advocating them.
