POF-USA Roller Cam Pin

I’m guessing this is for their gas piston design. The BCG looks totally different. Also looks like there are two different BCG’s in the slide show–I’m guessing one is 7.62 and the other is 5.56.

I didn’t realize there was such a size difference, I have no exposure to the 7.62 versions of the AR platform.

Funny thing is that I was thinking about something like this the other day.

During WW2, a roller cam was experimented with in the M1 rifle to prevent lockups when the rifle’s original lubricant washed off in hard tropical rainstorms. They thought it was a good idea at the time, but decided the redesigned bolt and op rod would be too much trouble to introduce into wartime production. Instead, they ended up issuing Lubriplate grease. The roller cam idea resurfaced in the selective fire redesign of the M1 (the T20 series), and its offspring, the M14. In addition, it looks like Gene Stoner played with a roller cam in one of his prototype designs, the AR-12.

Neat idea can you buy the roller cam by its self?
