How does this latch work? Work well? Work well with many different uppers? Noveske, LWRC, AA Conversion, etc.?
It works as a bolt release only. You can can not lock the bolt back using it. I have used a POF lower with the bolt release with a Colt, DPMS and Sun Devil uppers and it works fine. There is an elongated bolt catch buffer plunger that is used with traditional parts to move the bolt release.

I am running my POF lower with a Vltor MUR upper w/AA piston 1 piece bolt carrier conversion and it works great.
Do the mag wells run on the tight side?

Yes they do. I had a couple of the revision “M” Pmags that would not drop free. The older versions fit fine though.
None of my PMAGs drop free from my POF.
I have not had any problems with mags not dropping. Might be the climate here in Colorado; less humidity the answer?
Utah is pretty dry too…
Sample to sample variability is probably at fault.
I did read somewhere an alternative explanation - not 100% sure, but it had something to do how billet lowers are made.
