Last week I ordered a 308 POF, I was told it would be 10 to 12 week wait. I already have a 5.56 POF and I really enjoy it. I don’t often see post on POF ARs. So I don’t see why they are in such of a demand. No matter what caliber or barrel length the wait is the same.

They’re pretty popular over on SnipersHide.com so it could be the demand from that site thats driving backlog. Kind of like GAP. Backlog is like 2 months or so.
Have you considered MEGA?
POF guns are really heavy.
I would say they are doing you a favor making you wait as long as possible. It gives you more time before the frustration sets in. If they make you wait 40 weeks say Thank You.
