Pocahontas releases DNA test

And the results are, she’s at best a typical white American women. I bet I have as much or more native American in me. The Globe does it’s best to spin it as anything but prof she’s a liar, but it just makes them look as intellectually dishonest as she is:

The inherent imprecision of the six-page DNA analysis could provide fodder for Warren’s critics. If her great-great-great-grandmother was Native American, that puts her at 1/32nd American Indian. But the report includes the possibility that she’s just 1/512th Native American if the ancestor is 10 generations back.”

Ever put it on a job application? That’s the issue.

Plus I love that she is outside the range of when she would get pressured to try to join a tribe.

All that trouble, and no casino money.

The best estimate, puts her waaaaaaaay outside the range, much less the worse.

OLD news…

Campaign platform will read:

1/512th native American

I would say her genealogy is pretty typical for an American whose family has been here for a while. I consider myself white and have 1 fullblood ancestor 5 generations back.

The news is spinning it as “See, Trump was wrong, she does have Native ancestry.”

My wife is enrolled in a Federally recognized tribe (31/32 Native ancestry) and has no patience for "Fake Indians). Here in Alabama she jokes that everyone’s great great grandmother was a Cherokee princess.

Andy

Rush is reporting 1/1024th. Whatever it must be Warren can’t be wrong. This just proves that DNA analysis is junk science.

A Roswell gray has more native American blood than Pinocchiohontas.

I think the term “Native American” should apply to anyone born on US soil. Even though the term “Indian” is an obvious misnomer, I think there needs to be another term to define those who were here when the Europeans landed.

Maybe aborigines?

This is just sad.
My God, She was given every advantage and every opportunity that was deemed legal for people of native “heritage” while essentially being as white as Barbie.

Warren may have less than half the native-American ancestry of the AVERAGE white American. That’s quite an accomplishment.
DNA testing suggests my family has 1-2% of a couple things we had no idea were in our ancestry (none of them native American, FWIW). For her result to be around 0.09% of something she has long claimed, that’s just sad.

I don’t know the details but I was under the impression she may have sought employment advantages (diversity/minority status) based on her claims of native ancestry.

Whatever the case, she’s an idiot to think that this miniscule result puts her in some morally superior position - it mostly makes her look like a tone-deaf idiot. This could actually weaken the Dem vote slightly, or at least for her, by coming across as so outrageously phony.

There are DNA tests and then there are DNA tests. DNA tests on the same individual but with different testing organizations produce different results. Recently an alleged yeti was found to be a hybrid polar/brown bear by the leading British geneticist. Then a geneticist specializing in bear DNA re-ran the test. No polar bear DNA at all on the second test.

Warren needs at least two more tests by very different labs done before I will believe anything. By the way, the leading DNA expert is not in Stanford, he is in Leipzig, Germany and his name is Dr. Svante Paabo.

For sure she’s one third horses ass.

Let me know when you get a tenured teaching position and/or government grant money based on your 0.188% Basque heritage.

I’ve been saying similar to my co-workers for years.

The Boston Globe corrected their leading article to reflect the same.

The only true Indian DNA in her is what she’s swallowed.
