I ordered 2 cases of pmags on 12/20 from brownells. They won’t give me a time frame on the backorder time.I was wondering if you gentlemen had heard anything.
i have a lower on backorder and im pretty sure ill never see it, if i do it wont be till mid-last summer
From another thread a few days ago…
FWIW, I talked to Brownells this morning about some Dec 19th,20th,21st and 22nd orders of mine. They said a few things.
*Beginning of Feb at the earliest.
*They have over 150,000 PMAGs on order from MagPul
*They have over 75,000 PMAGs on backorder as of today, and obviously have stopped taking backorders
*She seemed to imply that they were NOT receiving regular shipments in from MagPal - said they were supposed to receive a big shipment in Nov and didn’t and another couple of large ones in Dec and didn’t and nothing in Jan yet…
I think the damn dictator and his idiot partner are going to act before “beginning of January.” As in, any day now.

I think it will be a while before PMAGS are available in any real numbers.
What’s a pmag?
:jester:
Someone on another forum I frequent posted he received a shipping email from Brownells for his pmags…curious thing is from his post it sounds like he ordered after I did. Could just be his recollection of “just over two weeks ago,” is bad. We’ll see.
Somebody here posted that their 12/18 order for gen 3 30 rounders shipped from Brownells. My 12/18 order of gen 2 mags hasn’t shipped.
While I’m sure the intentions are good, I keep seeing info from CSRs at various resellers that I know to be incorrect, as with the quote in this thread.
With all the folks that say they haven’t had any shipments of PMAGs, I’d love to know where the ones leaving our docks are magically going that have their adresses on them, because we’ve shipped, um, “several” lately.
That being said, the backorder positions at various places are fairly extensive.
We’re working very hard to meet demand and expanding the capacity of both the GEN M2 and GEN M3 lines. We are still concentrating on black to reduce down time in swapping colors. All variants of window/non-window and the 20LR are being made at capacity.
We have some unannounced things in testing that we might be adding to the lineup soon that may also help the demand.
So is it safe to say that what I was told yesterday on the phone by a fairly large retailer that Magpul is no longer taking orders for mags except for two retailers (themselves and another), is totally bull?
In some cases, the existing orders are substantial, so additional orders are kind of superfluous until we work through the current position. There is no blanket policy.
Our relationships with dealers and distribution is on an individual basis, and we work to make sure we meet the needs of all of our customers as best we can given the current situation.
Yeah screw all the other colors. Keep making black. People can paint them!!!
I back ordered some of the Gen3 mags from DSG right around Christmas. Showed up in about two weeks.
I liked the original PMAG. I liked the Gen2 even better. I REALLY like the Gen3 mags.
Unless you are an 18 year old new shooter, it didn’t take a crystal ball to see that one should have had some magazines on hand.
What happens with these magazines at the distributor and retail level can be frustrating, especially with so many people taking advantage of the current situation.
When this is all over, I will remember those companies who took advantage of the civilian and LE market. I will also remember those companies who’s integrity showed through these tough times.
Brownells and DSGarms have so far been there for their LE and civilian customers.
MagPul is to be commended for their efforts to try to supply the demand. They could have raised their prices to take advantage of current events. They didn’t.
The only thing I would say to those who work at MagPul is Thanks…
Understood. Thanks for the reply and for working as hard as I’m sure y’all are to get production caught up to the madness…
I appreciate you taking the time and sharing with us as I cannot even begin to imagine how busy you guys have been since the attack on our 2nd Amendment began.
I have been pondering on the PMAG situation and have to wonder if they are being hoarded by some distributors and or retailers with the hopes that a ban will go through and they’ll be sitting on hundreds if not thousands of “pre-ban” mags that they can sell at an exorbitant rate later down the road.
I ordered Gen M3 PMAGS 5 from GT Distributors (the limit at the time) and 5 from West Fork Armory on December 26. Still haven’t heard anything from either retailer.
I would like to hear more order dates / receiving dates from people. Maybe it will help boost my morale if I actually hear from people who have received their orders.
ordered 5 gen m3 and 5 gen m2 pmags from Larue on 12/19/12
Still back ordered with no sign of mags in sight.
Certainly possible, but I think it’s more likely that they are being ordered by individuals who suddenly decided they should have a lifetime supply.
I did my “panic buy” of PMAGs and Glock magazines after the attack on Gabrielle Giffords, as I thought that would spark a ban. Guess I jumped the gun (no pun intended), but it worked out for me.
I received a dozen Gen III from my Magpul vendor of choice last week.
I got an email from botach that they were only going to honor 3 Pmags per person for each order. I ordered ten December 15th, and just got the email today.
I did mine after 13 September 2004. I wasn’t going to wait for the next one. ![]()
