I’d appreciate some help identifying a bolt I have… before I use it.
If you know the manufacturer or company, I’d appreciate the info.

No idea since there are no other markings. Where did you get it? Where is it purported to be from?
Thanks for the response.
I bought it on-line. No manufacturer was noted, only the MPI stamping.
Who did you buy it from? Do they have any specs on their website? You may be lucky to find another one that someone knows the origins of, but chances are they didn’t make them and they are just selling them.
Thanks again.
The bolt wouldn’t lock up anyway. I’ve already received a refund. I’m returning it tomorrow.
This is going to be the ugly side of the panic buy in this industry. Any and every bottom feeder will be cranking out garbage and slapping “MPI” on it.
The markings will at some point become useless.
That’s what I was thinking when I bought it and why I was “hoping” it was recognizable to someone. There aren’t any reputable sources for bolts right now. Fortunately, the seller has refunded my money.
I’ve never seen a bolt that wouldn’t even go into battery.
I bought a BCM bolt for $100 off the EE here on m4, and as much as that seems expensive. I’ll know that it’s the real deal, and that I could use it in a fighting gun.
I haven’t seen a bolt not lock up either, they are usually surprisingly sloppy. I have however, had a no name barrel fail to take a Geissle Reaction Rod.
I replaced a working bolt with the MPI bolt. When I tried to insert the BCG, it was metal on metal when the bolt reached the breach. I tried several times with the same exact results. When I reinstalled the original bolt, everything worked.
If the cam hole position is out of spec by even a mm, the lugs would not match up.
