I’m considering a integrated suppressed 9mm upper but I’m concerned about hand guard heat. Everything I’ve read indicates that sticking a rifle can under a hand guard will not work because of the heat. I haven’t found anything about how well pistols cans work under a hand guard. I’d think a 9mm can would not get nearly as hot as a 5.56 can. Does anyone have experience with a 9mm can under a hand guard? Of course how hot things get depends on use. I don’t intend to do mag dumps. I would like to shoot a course of fire and not have to wait 15 minutes until the hand guard cools off before I run the course again.
