Pinned/welded FS??

Can anybody post a pic of what this looks like? And once one is pinned and welded, does that mean it can never be removed without gomering up the barrel?

Still, I wonder, can the pinned/welded FS be removed if needed and replaced with something else without screwing up the barrel?

The weld will need to be drilled out and the pin removed but it can be done.

Thank you very much for the pics. I take it that the ‘pin’ must be very short in order it not protrude into the barrel. Kinda makes me wonder why even bother with a pin and not just spot weld?

Sometimes they can be removed without too much effort or damage. Depends on how well it was originally done & the skill of the person removing it. Why not just a spot weld? That’d be way too easy to remove as per ATF.
