hah, trust me, it aint that easy with a .308. But I’m willing to put up the coin if anyone can break match or beat that time.

Anyways, Tom, and everyone else, thanks for the photos!

Awesome!

I see how it is…throw up a challenge in class and change the terms once you’re home.

2.45 eh…challenge accepted. I’ll take video. Might be a couple weeks.

ammo makes a difference with the 1-5 drill. i run low 3’s with PMC ammo.

I’ll be shooting 30 year old Russian surplus…

What distance are the targets shot at?

We run this drill with Ken and LAV and generally shoot it at 30yds. The fastest I have been able to shoot it is in the 8 second range.

I’d say shooters were at about the 3 yard line.

Per Kyle Lamb, the drill should be shot at 5 meters.

Got it. Will have to set this up on my range and see what I can do.

I think that Travis did it closer to emphasis fast trigger manipulation. It was also the last excercise, so I think it might have been a confidence builder. Kind of like giving a hunting a dog an easy practice retrieve as the last one so that the dog doesn’t get discouraged

I thought it was a fun way to finish a class.

Be fun to do with a handgun too.

Yes,

I do variations of this drill at different distances… Mostly inside of 10 yards But if you want to find your real time do it as per VTACs set up… 7 yards and properly spaced targets…

We were just having fun in this drill and is a good way to keep your brain, eyes, snapping the gun, and yes trigger control.

Yes that was…

i think itd be interesting to try with a shotgun but i think id have a hard time finding a shotgun that’ll hold 15shells

The 1x5 drill is excellent. I practice it often, along with the 2x2x2 drill.
Try the 1x5 with a pistol and the Tri-Lambda Drill with a carbine.

how about back to our regular magpul aar thread:D

No not really…I can think of a few… Benelli’s right now…

Sorry please bring us back on track

Ok, set this up yesterday. Distance was about 7yds with the targets about 5-6 feet apart. We used IDPA targets and had to keep rounds in the “A” zone.

I shot it in 3.9. It is apparent that the most time lost is moving from left to right.

Like shooting IPSC, on your last shot you should be already acquiring your next, so the rhythm does not slow… think like the sound of a pendulum. instead of tat. tat tat. tat tat tat. etc etc think tat tat tat tat tat tat tat tat tat…
