Hello all, new member here, long time reader and lurker. I am going to try and contribute where I can add value or seek value from others here.

First, I have received a couple of new BCM components this week, and wanted to share some thoughts and photos with the forum.

BCM Ambi Gunfighter Charging Handle Mod 4:

I really like the Gunfighter charging handle series, but as a lefty, the ambi version intrigued me, and I ordered one up. Here’s some pictures of it comparing to a traditional Mod 4. Seems like a very high quality build part, functionally - it’s useful for a lefty, and I like it quite a bit.



Next up is a BCM Gunfighter Comp Mod 1:

I have only installed this on my rifle, and not fired it yet, but I have high hopes for it. On my Spikes upper I had to do some work with the timing to have it align properly, but no big deal. Another nicely made component, hopefully it works as good as it looks.

In stock at the moment, I just received mine wednesday, I can’t wait to get it to the range.

The ambi CH looks kinda… big. Like it’d snag on a whole bunch of shit.

I think I prefer the AXTS RAPTOR execution of the concept.

But knowing BCM it’ll be great quality.

If you think the ambi-Gunfighter is big the Raptor uses larger latches. I just got my gunfighter yesterday and it uses the Mod4 latches and they stick out the perfect amount IMHO.

Good thread. I have my Mod 4 Gunfighter ambis and they work perfectly.

I’m a lefty and currently have a gunfighter ambi and a raptor ambi on two different rifles. Both work great my only gripe is the gunfighter can but not always pinch the meaty part of your finger and it hurts like hell. There’s no chance of that happening with the raptor.

i was looking at the bcm ambi and wondering about the pinching vs my raptor. question for you: it seems the bcm ambi is also wider, is this the case?

Not sure what you mean? Are you asking how far it sticks out of the weapon on both sides? Or is the latch face itself wider?

apologies. i meant is the bcm gf ambi wider than the rainer raptor. it looks like its a tad wider but i havent found the specs for both.

The bcm latches are equal on both sides, where the raptor is shorter on the left and longer on the right. i assume thats to help us lefties clear the forward assist. that being said if i put the bcm and raptor back to back they are damn close in size, however the raptor is offset as you know, making it longer than the bcm on the right and shorter than the bcm on the left side. Hope that makes sense.

On another note has anyone shot that bcm comp yet? I’m having a toss up between that and the griffin m4sd. Can’t decide between the two, my wife can’t stand the noise that comes out of her surefire mb556k anymore.

thanks for responding. you’ve just cleared up 2 reservations i had about trying the bcm ambi. i can get a raptor right now for pretty much the same price as the bcm so ill just pick up a spare. thanks again.

No problem, IMHO I like the raptor better, the roll pins on the raptor seem beefier too as well as coiled instead of just the standard roll pins.

Any chance of a picture of both the gunfighter and raptor side by side?

Awesome thanks. Seems like the raptor may not get caught up on things the way the latch is rounded over.

True they did do a nice dehorn job on the raptors, but enough sidetracking back to bcm did the op get out and test that comp yet or what?

Sorry guys, I have not been able to shoot the comp yet. I plan to do a full comparison of the BCM comp, a Spikes Dynacomp, and an SEI Vortex for a full comparison sometime in the near future.
