Was originally looking at a Springer Parkerized loaded for $560 that I was going to upgrade, but my boss offered me a deal I couldn’t pass up.
New Sig 1911 Nitron railed, $675.
There are some things I don’t like about it, like the slide profile & series 80 parts, but I can always resell if needed. Comparing side by side the features of the parkerized loaded vs. the Sig, the Sig beats it for the price hands down. Undercut trigger guard, frontstrap checkering, match barrel, .120 barrel flange, etc. I should be getting it on the 29th, stupid 10 day jail.
I already ordered a magwell & some small parts for it, gonna load some .45 and see how it shoots.
Good luck. My Sig GSR was complete shit. Had a crack in the slide after 300rds among other things. I don’t know which is worse, SIGARMS products or their customer service. Knowing what I know now I would have gone with the SA Loaded.
A good friend of mine has an STX with over 10,000 rounds through it. No problems in his experience and the only part he has ever replaced is the recoil spring. I have been impressed enough with his STX that I ordered a Tac Ops a few weeks ago.
If you don’t like the S80 parts, Cylinder & Slide offers a kit that replaces the stock S80 parts with more fitted parts and is said to improve the trigger feel and reduce the pull weight. I haven’t tried the C&S kit but it may be something that you’d want to consider.
