We’ve got a thread for M-LOK, but I’m not finding one for Pic rails and with so many of us sticking with or going back to the ol’ cheese-graters I figure we need one. The only two that come to my mind are the old LaRue index clips with the hooks and Arson Machine Picatinny WireGuide™ Clamps. So what options are out there today for wire control on Picatinny handguards?
Index Clips worked really well before I abandoned wires for illumination devices years ago.
If I were forced to use a pressure pad, I probably wouldn’t even look for a new solution. Index Clips are in a drawer waiting to be used. I still use the non wire-restraining clips on Picatinny rails.

What’s wrong with some good ole fashioned zip ties? Or One-Wrap if you wanna be extra.
Cloud Defensive LCS works well for me, but I’m only dealing with one cable from a single WML.
It’s a 1913 mount for the tape switch. You can route unused cable within the mount, leaving only the bare minimum exposed.
I snake the wires through the rail and combo of zipties and hockey tape.
I wanna say some of Manta’s rail covers are designed with cableways. They have a really nice kit for wrangling VFG-mounted tapeswitch cable that the Marines adopted.
Hard to argue against old school retention methods on classic old school rails, but one would think more options would be out in this day and age given how long they have been around.
For Cloud Defensive switches…
REIN Switch Angle Adapters (RSAA)

those are actually nuch nicer than I expected, as are the regular Manta lo-pro covers. I have not yet used them in the summer, where I wonder if they could possibly start to feel a bit slippery.
There’s also the ladder panels that have wire management tabs, but they’re not as beefy as some other options.
Like Grizzman, I’ve abondoned the siren song of wired remote switches. I’ve been chasing the latest, this-one-will-finally-totally-be-reliable, remote switches for 20 years now, and every single one has fallen short. God put multiple joints in my opposable thumb for a reason, it seems.
I love the LaRue clips for general use. The one thing that mental patient makes that I like. I never did run any wires though… I’d rip that crap apart within a month.
Multiple Surefire, Unity, Mod Light, they all live in a box. Never had a failure, just don’t like them. My Clicky Caps are wireless. Sometimes if I want a light at 3:00, I use a ds00 or xm07 cap for the offset button and go under the rail. Of course I’m only needing a white light.
I’ve had failures with all of those, unfortunately.
I’ve used them for years. Also dig those larue clips…but don’t trust them as much as wire ties.
Ha, I found my index clips. I had separated out the wire management clips into a small ziplock and placed them in a secure location. It only took me three days to find them, they were not in the box of shame with the regular ones. I dug out a couple pressure pads and re rigged a couple white lights, gonna larp with this shit till I get bored again.
I have used the Arson Machine wireguides for both MLok and picatinny to great effect. I find them to work well and esthetically pleasing.
I have also used the LaRue clips. They also work well.
