So with no warning photobucket is now no longer free to post to third party sites.
Did anyone get a notice that this was happening?
Whats the next best site to use that’s still free?

I noticed pictures were not showing the other day.
Just changed to http://imgur.com/
Just switched to Imgur, as well. Not paying photobucket $400 a year to post photos online.
I didn’t even know photobucket was still a thing, there are far better image hosting sites that are free
Just checked and my photobucket-hosted photos are still showing on an auction site. But I’ll be monitoring in case they disappear quickly, and change to something else going forward.
Holy smokes, just logged into my Photobucket account for the first time in who knows how long.
The site is still slow as molasses but I don’t remember there being as many ads in the past. They must be struggling with money.
Fortunately there are only a handful of photos worth keeping, I’ll be storing those elsewhere.
Thanks for the link, I’ll give them a try.
I enjoy a lot of different forums ranging from Harley’s to campers and BBQ’s and go to learn as well as help when I can, sucks all those pics I’ve posted through the years will not be available to help others any longer.
Ones you recommend? Not that I use photo hosting much anymore but it’s nice to keep up.
I was there two days ago, doesn’t sound like I’ll be there anymore.
I prefer Flickr to imgur; imgur’s got the community aspect I’m not a fan of, it’s blocked at my work, and they have size limitations. Still, imgur is definitely very easy to use; Flickr’s a bit more complicated.
Imgur or Flickr are the two I’d use. Not for storing stuff I want to keep private, I have Amazon Prime Photos that I use for my photo backup
I’ve just tried both and can’t seem to figure out how to get the pictures there to post here?
Same here… Oh well. “So far”, all of my pictures are still showing up. I have only used the P-B mobile app since their website became all but unusable on Firefox well over a year ago. I refuse to use Safari. I have not “logged in” from an actual computer in a while.
I noticed a few days ago that when I was trying to click on P-B linked pictures, that the site was denying me because of ad-block. Sorry, too many privacy problems have been PROVEN with third party linked ads. If I can’t use ad-block, I won’t use _____ web site. Buh-bye!!
Fine, I spend too much time on the internet already. If I can’t post pictures anymore, that will save me time. As more and more sites restrict ad-block, I will spend less time on the internet. Fine I say. That will get me OUTSIDE enjoying life. ![]()
You can embed Dropbox photos. Create and copy a link, and then remove ?dl=0 and replace it with ?raw=1
I like the lack of crap that’s associated with Dropbox. It’s too bad that it’s not 100% straightforward, but it’s a decent free solution.
Like so
Just a bucket test…
Edit… they caught up to my account…

Thanks for the reminder, I’ll start using dropbox…
I saw on some other forum that while the majority of pb users including myself no longer have pics in our posts some still were able to post pics without paying accounts. Ill be switching up just not sure to where just yet, but $400/yr is ludicrous
They may be targeting by user bandwidth. My PB account is 3% full.
Photobucket has been crap for so long now. There are way too many better options out there now. I just deleted my Photobucket account. I’ve had that account since 2005, but it’s been time to kick them to the curb for a long time now.
Flickr is pretty easy on the computer, pretty difficult on the phone. I’m too lazy to do imgur.

TBH, if you take the time to learn the basics of BBCode (the formatting code used by this, and many other forums), it’s pretty easy to post pictures from a variety of sources, without having to resort to attachments.
