PGO shotguns with a Sig arm brace

Full disclaimer, I have no intention of doing this, just curious on legalities.

I’ve seen a number of threads on various forums that state you can take a factory pistol grip shotgun, replace the pistol grip with a birds head grip, and chop the barrel to 14 inches with no paperwork, since it was never a shotgun (no stock) and the birds head grip keeps it over 26.5".

Assuming this is legal, could one replace the factory pistol grip with with an adapter to take an AR pistol grip and a pistol buffer tube with an arm brace and cut the barrel to 14"? It would still be over 26 and would not have a stock…

Again, not saying it’s a good idea or that I have any intention of doing that, just curious on the legalities of it. Thanks!

Here is a thread touching on this subject https://www.m4carbine.net/showthread.php?154207-Thoughts-on-a-Shotgun-with-Sig-Brace I’m not much help beyond this, sorry.

Very interesting. Thanks!

Honestly that’s an awesome idea, you can always do the old write the ATF tech branch and find out.
