PFlexPro tactical light review

I was looking to upgrade some surefire 6P lights I had. I wanted at least two modes and 1000 lumens. I kind of stumbled on Pflexpro and they had some great options. They sale the modules as well as complete lights. I was able to get a module with these features:

1200 lumens
uses one 18650 battery, my surefires are bored, it doesn’t work with CR123A batteries
Multiple output options
Fully potted

One of the neatest features about the light is the menu system. There are 22 modes you can choose from. These range from high only to; moon light - 5% - 15% - 50% - 100%. There are also modes with strobe. If you don’t plan on changing modes it is possible to semi permanently lock in your selection so there is no way to accidentally change it. Although I don’t use it, the light has the best options for strobe I have seen. You can choose a menu that is high - strobe. The light operates in such a way that you can turn it on in either high or strobe with one or two presses of the tail cap button. All the modes I use always turn on in high but there are other options.

I initially purchased a module for myself. I liked it enough that I contacted the company about submitting a light for review. I beat the light until I was able to break it. It did very well. I ended breaking the tail cap, window, and a battery. At that point I took the led module out and dropped it in water and hooked up wires to the positive and negative contacts and it still worked.

It’s always nice to see a drop-in manufacturer claiming >1000 lumens OTF who actually delivers it, looks like there are a lot of really nice tweaks and features compared to most other P60’s as well. The copper shimming is an especially nice addition given that his modules are probably running at over 14 watts. I have to say though, I’m surprised he hasn’t swapped out the stock Solarforce lenses for UCL or AR coated ones which could let through an extra 50-100+ lumens.

I’m not sure about the ucr lens. I could ask Randy, the owner if you are interested. It may be a price thing. The solarforce hosts are very affordable, the ucr lens would probably be about 20 percent of the cost of a whole host. The majority of the cost is in the module where it matters most. One of the things that really impressed me about the lights was how he rates the lumens. Before I did the review or talked to the company I purchased one for myself. Each module or complete light ships with instructions and output ratings for that light. This isnt an estimate for each model but every module or light is individually tested.

The other thing I found from dealing with Randy is that if you want something different, like a ucr lens, if he can make it happen he will.

This is the led module and body from the light in the test. I put a new tailcap and bezel on it and use it at work.
