So yesterday my wife got a call from her mom telling her that her grandmother had fallen and was hurt pretty bad. They were taking her to the ER but didn’t know much else. My wife immediately started getting ready to head up to see her family.
Once she got there she text me telling me how bad it was. She has a bleed in her brain that eventually caused a clot so they had moved her to the ICU. Her head is swollen and she is black and blue. My wife immediately said she knows her granny was attacked. Now my wife can be very emotional and jump to conclusions so I told her to calm down and we would see what happened.
Honestly I thought she was just overreacting. I am ashamed that I ever thought that, I could not have been more wrong… Late last night she admitted to being attacked. Later in the night she finally admitted to being raped as well.
This is a woman who has her entire family (20-50 people depending on the week) over to her house even sunday night. She never judges, never speaks ill of anyone. hell I have never seen her without a smile.
As of the last I heard she has said who attacked her but we have an idea. Every family has that black sheep and in hers the one is involved with drugs. So it is pretty easy to make the logical leap as to what has happened.
For the life of me I can not comprehend an act like this. While on a smaller scale it is as incomprehensible as the sandy hook shooting to me…
Why are people so fucked up. And why isn’t it legal to hang them?
I feel for you and understand your frustration. Please don’t do anything rash if you find out who the scum is. He deserves it but it would ruin your life. I remember interviewing a suspect accused of child molestation and thoughts of reaching acrosst he table and strangling the SOB kept popping in my head.

As Pat stated try to keep your emotions in check if you do run across the deuche who did this. Ruining your life won’t ease the pain any faster, just make it worse.

I grew up in a nice safe neighborhood where nothing had happened. I grew up thinking everybody had good in them. Since leaving home I have learned that I was very very wrong.
Hope your grandmother in law has a speedy recovery.
One of my earlier wake up calls were when two kids from my “nice safe neighborhood” came home from school and surprised some burglars who shot and killed both of them. I was in my 20s and had long since moved out of my parents house but ti stunned me to learn that a couple kids who were around 12 to 14 years of age died doing something I did 5 days a week growing up.
It depresses me to no end to say these things no longer surprise me. The truly sickening part is our unwillingness to take proper actions in response.
Awful. Something that may be hard to convince her of, but would probably be helpful, is to get her some counseling. I’d ask her doctors if they recommend someone or some type of help for the emotional trauma.

I can’t fathom how someone can do such things to another human being. Unbelievable evil. Hope he dies slowly in a house fire for what he has done.
Don’t worry guys. I am not going to fly off the handle and do something stupid. As much as I may want too…Right now we are just in a holding pattern. She is being kept Semi sedated. The Police haven’t been able to get much from her. The biggest issue right now is the part of the family that can’t seem to accept this can happen…
SCOTUS removed capital punishment for rape. Unfortunate but I think criminals think they can get away with a lot more now without facing serious consequences.
I was checking the sexual offender registry, and theres a guy who got 15 years for 15 counts of rape of a child and he served like 8 years. Basically half a year per incident. Makes me sick. One incident should be a death sentence, and then they release this clown and he lives within 2 miles of 2 elementary schools, a middle school, and a HS.
